Good Evening Members, We survived Storm Abigail and the driving rain and winds.Our Dome is holding steady and is busy with members playing ladder matches, lessons and group tennis . Just a quick email to keep you up to date with events happening at the tennis club. Our Sports Prophet has now finished for 2015. All 20 events are over . The head of the leader board after 20 events and the winner of The Sports Prophet big prize is .... Caimin Murphy. Congratulations Caimin . I would like to thank all the members for their support for this fundraiser . The full list of participants and their scores is displayed on the notice board in the club and on our facebook page . Our annual Harvest Fare is on this Sunday (15th Nov) From 11am to 2pm . If you are talented in the kitchen and would like to donate some baked goods , please contact Pauline O'Donohoe (087)7646019. If baking is not one of your talents (like me !) please come along and support the Fare by buying some of the goodies on sale. Jason & Therése will be holding their Captain's Prize on Saturday the 21st November . The Ladies event starts at 3pm followed by the mens event at 5.30pm . Please contact Jason or Therése to make sure you get your name down . The evening social will kick off at 8pm , there will be food, music and dancing . Music will be by the excellent Garvey Brothers - it promises to be a great night - come down and support our club Captains. The Connacht Junior matchplays will take place on Sunday the 22nd November . Juniors from all over Connacht will compete . The Dome covered courts will not be available to members from 10am to 6pm on that day . Our Annual AGM will be held on Thursday the 26th November at 8pm. Official notice of the AGM and the Agenda will be sent out by Sarah , our club Secretary next week. If you can please attend , we will be reviewing the year just gone and looking forward to the year ahead.If you would like to get involved with the committee for the forthcoming year or just get more involved in the activities at the club , please do not hesitate to contact me on (086) 8392753 or at chairperson@castlebartennis.ie . All members are welcome to attend the AGM. Castlebar Winter Markets are running every Friday from 9am to 2pm in the clubhouse. There are many different stalls from baked goods to local crafts . It brings a lovely buzz to the Clubhouse on a Friday Morning . If you can drop in and support the local producers . National Junior Matchlays will be held in Castlebar Tennis Club from Friday the 4th December to Sunday the 6th December . Juniors from all over Ireland will be attending the event . The Dome covered courts will not be available to members on those dates. Can I give a gentle reminder to those who have yet to pay entry fees for doubles & singles Ladder.
